Disney Day @ Home

Our family has been really missing Disney. Not just the rides but the food the smells you get when you walk around Disney and well we decided we needed a Disney day at home. We made signs and drank from my 2000 McDonald’s cups, good times. I had purchased the unofficial Disney parks cookbook, thought that was a good place to start. We wanted to make churros and dole whip, these treats are a must when we go and I thought it would be fun to make these Disney treats. I didn’t want to make anything hard but wanted it to be something we could eat while we ”rode” rides YouTube style.

While we were “riding” rides via YouTube everyone got to pick rides they wanted to ride. There is about every Disney ride on YouTube and we ate our snacks while we took turns naming the rides. The great part is you can go all over the world and visit all the disney theme parks, we rode Incredicoaster to Slinky Dog Dash. Though not the same as being in the parks you do start getting the feels and lets just say when we rode Pirates of the Caribbean we could almost smell the ride.

After we rode all the rides we want to take a break and yes churros and dole whip are yummy, they are not a meal. We looked through the cookbook again and decided on chili and pretzel mouse ears. Ok not a low calorie day but we did share a lot of this. The last thing we made was Jack-Jack’s Num Num cookies.

With our dessert in hand we sat down and enjoyed our cookie dessert turned on the old tube and watched Disney Parades and Fantasmic and even Disney fireworks. Such a fun day with the family and everyone participated making something.

I was able to borrow the lego disney castle so we put that together. This is a big set so took many many days to assemble but the detail is amazing and fun to put together. We played games the next night because we didn’t want the Disney weekend to end. It truly was a magical day and we liked that we all worked together. We all talked about our favorite memories and rides.

We have thought about other fun days we can do together. Maybe the next one will be a Harry Potter day at universal. Butter beer here we come!
